Alyansa ng OFW Party List, Presents Platform

Alyansa ng OFW Party, which has been instrumental in lobbying for laws beneficial to overseas Filipino workers, is now a party-list group seeking a seat in Congress.
The party-list, number 76 in the ballot, has lobbied for the passage of the the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipino Act, the Absentee Voting Law, the Anti-Money Laundering Law, and the Dual Citizenship Law. It was active in the campaign to save the lives of Flor Contemplacion and Sarah Balabagan, as well as in the National Anti-Poverty Commission.
The party list, headed by its president, Abolcair “Bong” D. Guro, believes that OFWs themselves must “direct our own force and our own destiny to provide us with what is equally right and equally just for our own bene¬fit and protection.”

Among their platform of government are: the reintegration of OFWs, the implementation and strengthening of the Migrant Workers Act (including legal assistance, safe houses, and immediate repatriation for distressed OFWs), the reorientation of the Overseas Workers Welfare Organization and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration toward OFWs’ welfare, and the enactment of the OFW Investment Incentives Law.
